Paying taxes

You can easily pay the combined municipal tax assessment by direct debit. You pay the combined tax in ten instalments spread over the whole year.

Stopping or changing direct debit payments

The direct debit payments will continue each year, unless you stop them yourself. If you have no money in your account two times in a row, the municipality will stop the direct debit. You can stop the direct debit via the link above. With this link, you can also change your bank account number.

No direct debit possible

Assessments higher than € 5,000 or lower than € 50 cannot be paid by direct debit. You can pay these assessments by transferring money on your own. On the assessment notice you receive, it will state how you can pay these taxes. For tourist tax, parking fines, advertising tax and municipal tax on encroachments on or above public land, you will receive a separate assessment. It will state on the notice how you can pay these taxes. You cannot use the direct debit link on this page to pay these notices.

In 2 instalments

You can make the transfer in 2 instalments. You will then have fewer instalments than with a direct debit. You must transfer the amount before the stated due dates. These dates can be found at the top right of the assessment notice. Please do not forget to state the assessment notice number.

In 1 instalment

You can also pay the municipal taxes in one go. This is done by transferring the full amount to the municipality before the last payment date. When transferring, please state the assessment notice number.

If you have no money to pay your taxes, the municipality may be able to help you. Find out how the municipality can help you well before the first payment deadline and avoid reminder fees.

It is possible that you paid too much for your tax assessment. For example, if you have paid the assessment and then moved house. The excess amount will be refunded to the account number from which the payment was made.

Do you have a low income or do you receive social assistance? Then you may be entitled to a waiver. This means that you do not have to pay (part of) the costs. Read more about Waiver of municipal taxes.
