How can I respond on the temporary locations of the underground containers?

Come to the neighborhood meeting on Wednesday June 21 for more information and your response. You are welcome from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm in Huis van de Wijk De Nude (neighborhood centre), Kortestraat 2.

The precise locations of the containers are listed in the so-called “draft designation decree for underground containers in the Nude”. If you did not agree with the decree in regard to one or more locations for the containers, you could submit your point of view. Please indicate why you do not agree with the temporary location(s). Also indicate what a better location would be in your opinion.

You can submit your point of view until 27 July 2023, by sending an e-mail to gemeente@wageningen.nl. You can also send a letter by mail to: The Mayor and alderman of Wageningen, Attn. Beheer en Advies, Postbus 1, 6700 AA Wageningen.

The locations for the underground the non-recyclable waste containers have not been determined yet. The municipality shall first consider all of the responses received (points of view) and then determine the permanent locations. After that we will install the containers (December 2023).

How are the locations of the underground containers chosen?

Finding a suitable spot is not easy. In looking for a suitable spot, we considered the following aspects:

  • proximity ot he residents
  • accessibility ot he garbage trucks
  • traffic safety
  • underground cables, pipes, sewage system
  • trees, both the crown and the roots of trees
  • preserving as many parking spaces as possible
  • preserving the open greenery and making sure the spot is well-lit

How do I open the underground containers for non-recyclable waste?

You can open the underground containers free of charge with your waste pass. You should have already received your waste pass by now. This is the same pass you use for the waste dump station. Later you will also receive a letter that explains the use of the waste pass.

When will the underground containers be placed in De Nude?

We plan to place the underground containers in December 2023.
