Passing on that you have moved abroad (emigrated)
If you are abroad for longer than 8 months in a period of one year, you are required to unregister at the town hall. You can do this starting from 5 days prior to your departure. Make an appointment online with the Civil Affairs Desk. If family members are staying behind at your home address, then everyone who moves with you must come along to town hall. Each person is required to have a valid passport or identity card with them.
