Wageningen offers a broad range of societies, for students, sports, music or just for fun.

Student cooperation

Do you want to work on your organisational and administrative skills? Join AIESEC or the student council.

AIESEC is an international student association aiming to improve cultural integration by organising exchange programmes for students. For more information: AIESEC.

The student council represents the interests of the students of the University of Wageningen. The council has 12 members, who work during a period of 1 year (full time) for a better university, better legislation, better courses and more possibilities for students. More information: Student council.

Sports club

When you are a student you can use the sporting facilities at the university and sports centre 'De Bongerd' at highly reduced rates. After getting your sports card, you can make free use of the squash courts, fitness rooms, and swimming pool 'De Bongerd'. There are also plenty of sports clubs for students to join for those who prefer team sports. For more information: University Sports Centre 'De Bongerd'.

Music Association

There are 2 music associations for students in Wageningen.

  • the musical choir and orchestra association for students in Wageningen (WSKOV): this is a combination of a mixed choir and a symphony orchestra with approximately 80 members.
  • 'de ontzetting' is an orchestra with a nice, unique style, playing swing music up to light classical music, from film music up to jazz. The idea is just to have fun and make music together.

Just for fun

You can join these groups to undertake different activities together, like a debating group, making music together, act or just have a drink at the bar.

There are different groups to join to have fun together. The 3 largest student corporations (WSV Ceres, KSV Franciscus and SSR-W) are most known. Every corporation has its own history and identity, however, all 3 of these are corporations where you can make friends and meet them, have fun and grow yourself.
