Emergency ordinance declared for region

The chair of the Safety and Health Region Gelderland Midden, Ahmed Marcouch, has declared an emergency ordinance. As a result, all events with more than 100 people in the area falling under the Safety and Health Region Gelderland Midden are prohibited until the first of June.

On 31 March, the government  issued instructions, to all of the Safety Regions. An emergency ordinance was declared to implement these instructions. This emergency ordinance enables officials in the Safety Regions to supervise and enforce the measures announced by the cabinet.

All events involving more than 100 people in the Safety and Health Region Gelderland Midden are prohibited and punishable in the period to 1 June 2020. This also applies to public locations such as cafes and restaurants, museums, concert halls, theatres, sports clubs and sports events as well as to meetings in buildings for religious purposes. Acting in violation of the emergency ordinance will be considered an offence. Schools are closed until 28th april.
